Win Mod 70 Magazine

If everyone answers that question all you will end up with are a bunch of "yes" and some "no". :D

What is it you need to know? What are you attempting?
 
I would like to install a mag on my Model 70. I've only seen one conversion kit (and it had multi caliber mags) to do this and it looked pretty wanky. Basically I'm looking for info on "is it worth it?" to do it, and what products might be better than others, or conversely is there a mag well that could be modified to work..

FN's SPR rifles are based on Winchester Model 70 actions, and they are available with detachable magazines. They're available in .308 Win and .300WSM. Whether or not FN will part with the bottom metal as separate parts isn't anything I can quote on, but its an avenue to investigate. The magazines themselves are listed on FN Herstals website, one would imagine a gunsmith could order the magazine well/trigger guard assembly for you.
 
V-Bull who advertises on this site sells a mag conversion, you can ask if he has a M70 version available, when I talked to him last year he was working on one. Let us know if you find out.
