Will a 2 3/4" Mod. 12 factory Trap barrel fit on A 3" Model 12 "Heavy Duck" receiver?

Yes it will there is no difference between recivers other than the ejection port is larger on the 3'' you may have to have some different adjusting sleeves for the take up so it will engage correctly also I have found the mag tube may have to be fitted. I have also found the numbers on the adjusting sleves don't always work in the order they are numbered it is more of a trail and fit process .I have also found if the manufacture date are not to far apart sometimes they will fit wright on.

Thanks stuff. Are the barrels thicker at the reciever on the 3" ones?

No becauce the BBl threads into the reciver extension and that is the part that mates to the face of the reciever.
