win model 12 skeet grade field gun 1947-48

picked up a very nice 12 ga model 12 with factory weaver compensated choke tube system a very interning choke system for the time external screw on chokes
this a factory install on this gun would have been special order because it has no choke marking on the bbl
and it's a plain bbl gun
Actually looking forward to shooting this model 12
of coarse it only came with one extra full choke so i'm on the hunt for choke tubes
23 inch bbl plus the length of the external choke tube

Sounds like a good upland gun Don. Are the Weaver tubes aluminum? Seems to me they were. A little more streamlined than the good old Cutts.

yes they are aluminium and and they are streamlined i have never used this system before
definitely looking forward to shooting this gun
hopefully i find a few different choke tubes

Years ago I had a Model 25 with the Weaver choke system. It threw very good patterns with all of the tubes it came with. Never seen any sign of wear on the tubes and they had been shot through a lot. I will keep an eye out for any in my travels.
