I have one of these coming in 6.5x55. I was thinking I would top it of with an elite 4200 What type of rings and bases would you guys reccomend and why? Thanks.

Dave.

A leupold ring and 2 piece base would be what I would use. First, they look nice, and that's good on a FW. Plus, you can adjust the windage using the base, not the scope to save your adjustment. as a bonus, I just like them. :p

What a lousy obsolete rifle, and a lousy outmoded chambering. I strongly recommend you ship it to me, before it explodes and takes out an eye....

Nah, that's one of my favorite rifles, in one of the best cartridges around. She deserves talley lightweights, or Leupold QR, and she definitely deserves Leupold glass. VXIII 2.5-8x36, wide duplex. Sell all your other rifles, no point in keeping them once this baby's running with the 130 grain accubond...

Weaver + Burris

Since everyone is noting something different... how about standard Weaver bases with Burris Signature Z rings with the polymer inserts. Very secure and a nice looking set-up that won't mar the finish on your scope tube...

x2, this is how I outfit most of my rifles. I personally don't care for leupold bases, and it's hard to get any lighter then weavers. The burris rings are also very nice and offer a very solid grip on the scope.

Well I guess it doesn't matter right now. I just found out that they are out of stock. (a week after ordering it) Guess i'll just have to get something else. Thanks for all the input guys!

X2 on the 2.5x8x36 VXIII much lighter scope than the Bushnell 4200 and maybe a little sharper.
