I have a model 70 unfired in 270 cal.
Walnut stock..hooded front sight and blade back.
Serial # 350 czx 07737
Trade mark OLON corporation.
Does anyone know when this may have been built.
The only model I can find that it looks like is the Alaskan 70.
Any help anyone can offer would be great.
Thanks

Winchester has a search engine to input serial numbers. You could start there. If it's the model I think it is,it may have been Canadian built when Winchester had a plant in Port Hope,ON in the late 60's early 70's. If the rifle is in excellent condition,it could be worth around $650 or $800 or more if in pristine condition. There's a good demand for older,well-built rifles.

The serial number with the 3 letter format you post is not one I've seen associated with M-70's. Is that exact set of letters and numbers stamped on the right receiver? And where is it marked 'Olin"?
If the serial number is actually 07737 then the rifle was manufactured in 1937.

I am offshore now at work. I only took two photo before I took off back . My bandwith is not good to upload pictures. The serail number and trade mark info under it20180613_044842.jpginfo20180613_044842.jpg20180616_083523.jpg

Posted two pictures on the poste. The only two I took before returning to work offshore. Would love to know what think.
Thanks for the help

I think it's safe to say that it's not a 1937 model, I think Chuck is probably correct saying that it's after 2000.

There's also one less number in that serial number than what you posted, that can make about 200 years difference in manufacture date...... (tongue in cheek) :)

Pretty much settles it no?
