Just a quick question. Are Win power points 150gr good enough for white tails. I want to sight in my 270 and don't have a lot of fed nos partions left. I don't think I need these for deer out to 150 yards so I thought I would try a box of these. $17.99 compared to $42.99. Just for deer and yotes. Are they that bad? Thanks guy's

They will be plenty good for whitetails if you place your shot properly (not that any work well if you don't). You may even find they are uber accurate in your gun, price doesn't necessarily dictate accuracy. They may not have the same point of impact as the Federal Nosler partitions. You'd have to try it to see if there is any difference, if that matters to you.
Thanks guy's for your thoughts. I had bought the fed's for Moose and thought I would try these Winchesters out on deer. I used the cheap Winchester sabot slugs last season and found them to work very well on a white tail. Think I'll buy a box. Thanks guy's

I have used the 130g PP out of a 270 for around 20 deer, and the 150g for maybe 2. You can't go wrong with either weight.
PP are better (less explosive & more penetration) than the cheap Federal shocks if you ever have to make a choice.

Nosler began selling the Partition in 1948. The .30-06 came out in 1906, the .375 H&H in 1912, the .300 H&H in 1925 and the .270 in 1925. All of those rifles had been out for decades before the partition even became available, let alone popular, yet they were all known as excellent killers.
Well this is not the response that I expected. I like the fact that most seem positive about this round. After everything I have read, I thought the advice would be save your money and buy a premium bullet. Let me ask this,150gr or 130gr for deer? Shots no more than 150 yards max.

I've used 130s and deer seem to fall right down. In Southern Ontario as you say the shots are within 150 yds. 150 gr. might be a better choice. Some rifles shoot these bread-and-butter rounds better than premium rounds.
Be sure to take time to shoot a few groups to give yourself confidence that these bullets are going to do the job.

ragged holes if I do my part, I've only got one animal with it ( a nice buck), but it left a nice hole (pass-through) and he died mid stride after 40-60 yards. 130 yard shot with a 180grain FWIW.
It doesn't matter. Try them both and use whichever one is more accurate, although I doubt the difference between the accuracy will amount to a hill of beans at 150 yards.
BTW, I have used power points on deer - 7mm-08 140gr.

+2, 130g PP in my 270 mountain rifle are a very consistent 3/4" 3 shot group, for deer shoots whatever works well with the 150 being my first choice with the range you are mentioning.

My first moose was shot with a 130 grain bullet out of a .270
