Win power points

I remember when I first used this rifle, I was going to Red Lake to hunt moose and everyone thought I was under gunned (270). Went to pro shop and they told me not if you use a good cartride and gave me a box of 150gr Nos.. Partitions. Don't shoot this gun often enought to have bought another box of shells. Im taking it deer hunting this year and just wanted to cheap out on ammo. Save the good stuff for moose prehaps. Thanks for your thoughts guys.

Good friend of my fathers had well over one hundred firearms of all makes and models and shelves and shelves of ammo for all of them.

The 270 Win was his favorite caliber and 150 gr Power Point was his choice for ammo and he did extremely well with this combo. He said the 130 gr would certainly kill just as well but if you got a little to close to the front shoulders with your bullet they wasted more meat due to bloodshot.

Either would be fine.

Like Shortaction said.

I have hunted with my 270 but never got to pull the trigger. One of my hunting buddies uses only a 270 for everything from golphers to moose. Very impressive caliber. he shoots at least one moose and one deer each year.

He uses the 130 for everything. I would have suggested the 150 if only one bullet to be used. But on a moose the heart/lungs are destroyed.
