Win SX3 vs Rem V3

Looking to upgrade from the Winchester SXP to an auto loader and have basically narrowed it down to the Winchester SX3 and the Remington V3. Gun store has a 3" chambered wood stock SX3 and can get a black synthetic V3 within $20 of each other, held the SX3 and it felt good in the hands and easy to swing... not that perfect fit where you know it's the one but a good fit that I would have no problem shooting well with. Held the V3 several months ago and I do remember quite liking the fit, between the 2 I'd probably give fit to the V3 but I haven't held them back to back so going off of memory. The part I'm wondering is which would you recommend between the 2, how reliable are each of them? Real world reviews of either would be greatly appreciated.

I have a Winchester Super XModel 3.Just bought it this past October and have been well pleased with it so far although I have not used it a lot.

The main reason I picked the Model 3.A fellow I know, has had one for several years now.He does a lot of duck hunting in all kids of hard conditions.He has never cleaned his Model 3,that I know of ,since he bought the gun and has never had a problem with the gun working.
 
That's the most retarded reason ever. So he Willingly does not take care of his firearms. Lol. The Sx3 is a great gun however.
 
Well I figure if it will work that well for him with no care,it should be a great gun for some one who gives it some care.LOLThere are many who use their firearms like a tool ,that they give no care to at all.In fact, I am often surprised at how some of these firearms work at all.:)
 
Go to a store where you can handle both guns. Close your eyes and shoulder one, then without moving , open your eyes and see if you are looking directly along the rib. Are you looking along the rib or at it? Is it centered left to right? Do the same with the other gun. Then choose the gun that really does fit you best.
 
I purchased the Remington V3 in August. It's seen duck duck and pheasant hunting in warm and cold, and clay shooting in both conditions. It has been flawless for me. I need to get a shim for the stock to have that perfect fit but it felt better than the other shotguns I tried within that price range. For an auto I have the Weatherby SA08 and I find them to be very close in fit as well, but I didn't want to be changing the gas valve all the time so I sold it and got the V3.

The best advice here is from stubblejumper. Shoulder the guns with your eyes closed and when you open them, see how you line up to them.
 
Can't go wrong with a versa max or v3. I have both and love them. Sold my beretta and Benelli after owning these for a few years. Very little can go wrong with them. Very low recoil
 
I made this decision 6 years ago before there was a v3 and went with the Versamax for a waterfowl gun. It's been great. Super reliable light recoiling gun.

If you hunt mostly waterfowl get a heavy reliable gas gun like a Versamax or a400. If you hunt mostly upland get a lighter gas gun like a v3 or sx3, sx4.

One thing about the Versamax and v3 is they will cycle with 100 percent reliability any of the cheapest light target loads. Inertia guns often do not. Other gas autos often do not.
