Winchest M94 30-30 rear sight

I cold blued a ‘75 production year M94 last year and it took bluing pretty well, so it can be done. The first coat or two looked pretty bad but the rest went on nicely, got lucky or maybe my level of metal prep helped it come out. I stripped it right down to the white before I cold blued as there was pitting present from improper storage before my friend got it.

I have been told that blood will ruin the blue.

Indeed! The only blue I have seen resistant to blood is rust-bluing.
