Winchester 101 field model

They seem to have gone up in price recently - they were closer to 1500$ a few years ago. Regardless, the current generation seems to be suffering from quality issues... There are lots of decent used ones around for substantially less, including Browning and Beretta.

I see a deluxe field model for sale at my favorite gun store. He's here on CGN too..here's the skinny on it

WINCHESTER SELECT DELUXE FIELD

stock # 32348
WINCHESTER OVER AND UNDER SELECT DELUXE FIELD, WALNUT WOOD STOCK ENGRAVED RECEIVER, 28" BBL WITH SCREW IN CHOKES. NEW $1559.99

Bear in mind that Winchester offered two models of O/U in recent years. I believe that Select Deluxe is not a 101, and that model is no longer offered. It pays to do your research...

Cosmic, thankx for all your research.

...that's why I never mentioned that it was a 101 in my post. All I did was offer the OP another O/U option in a FIELD model Winchester. Lots of models are discontinued and revamped after a year or two. That's how the manufacturers compete and try and stay on or near the top in sales.

Rookiegun, have a look on shotgunworld. You'll get better, more specific reviews on there .......likely with less cynicism too.
