Winchester 1200 barrels ?

Hello, I was hoping someone could clear up some confusion. What I have is a Winchester modle 1200 12g magnum with a 28" barrel on it, I would like a 18.5" barrel for when I go quadding etc, the 28"er is just too long. I cannot for the life of me find a shorter barrel for this gun.

My question is 1) where can I order one in Canada
2) what kind of interchangeability am I working with, will a non magnum barrel work? And I will just loose the ability to shoot 3" magnum loads :s. I don't want this boom stick to blow up in my face so I figured I would consult someone smarter than I.

You can run a Win 1300 barrel on your 1200, as for that barrel length , your looking at a turkey or a slug barrel.

The semi barrel will go on the pump , but not the other way around.....

Barrels are interchangeable for Winchester pump actions Models 120, 1200, 1300, 2200.
Also semi auto Winchester model 1500 barrel will work on the pump action models above, but the pump action barrels won't work on the semiauto without some work.

Watch the EE, (Sporting Shotguns, Parts and Accessories) there are shotgun barrels for sale there quite regularly. Buy a fixed choke, non-vent rib barrel and cut it down yourself, it's easy.

You won't find one unless someone has cut one down. Which most people haven't done to older winchesters. Best bet is to buy a Winchester defender with an 18.5". I have never seen a 18.5" barrel for the standard 5 shot mag tube only the defender model.

I bought two Winchester pump shotgun barrels on the EE here in the last year. They are out there but not as common as the Rem 870 barrels.
