Have not bought an air rifle since I was a kid,at least for myself. Im thinking with winter coming on I could shoot in the backyard at my .22 cal steel auto-reset target when I cant get to the range. This is the first one Ive researched, and only a little. Cabelas wants 229 for one,+shipping. Is there others I should be looking at?

The stoeger appears to be a good gun for the money. I have the X20 in wood. I haven't fired a ton of pellets through it yet but so far no complaints except for the heavy factory trigger though which is easily fixed with a $35.00 trigger kit. It 's quite accurate but it's not a light rifle with a scope on it.

Thanks,I didn't know it was made by Stoeger

It isn't but you mentioned if there were other rifles you should consider. However, Stoeger's air rifles are not actually made by them. They are Chinese which is probably also where the Winchester 1250 is made. Either there or Turkey.
