I have a winchester defender 1300, what other barrels will interchange? Can I put 1100 or 1200 model barrels on it as well? I know the Defender barrels have a longer mag tube, but this won't be an issue for me. My only concern is what barrels will fit.

Um the defender barrels will only work unless you change the mag tube. As the barrel lug is welded in a different position than on a standard 5 shell mag tube.

If you have the Defender model then your mag tube should be longer than the other 1300 models. If you take the a field barrel the lug will be too far down the tube for the mag cap to hold the barrel securely in place. To fix this situation you do not need to replace your mag tube with a shoter one...you simply need to make shim that will slide over the extra length of mag tube, between the barrel lug and the mag cap, so that it will hold that barrel in place when you tighten the cap back down.

If you have a field model and want to use the defender barrel then you will indeed have to replace the mag tube with a longer one...or have a friend machine you a mag extension of the proper length that has the end threaded for a mag cap.

Winchester 1200, 1300, 2100, 2200 barrel will fit but 1100 barrels will not as they are for a Remington model.

The new SXP barrels might still work. I'll get my bros and try it on my 1300's.

The new SXP barrels are only like $150 or so.
