Saw an awful lot of posts on here about Moss and Rem shotguns and thought I'd through my hat into the ring with my trusty ol' Defender.

And yes - I do own a Rem 870 and a Rem 11-87 so I'm not saying those are inferior products....

Hope you like the pic!

I have a basic Winchester 1300 duck gun. I like it, but sometimes I short stroke the action because it's so quick handling compared to the Savage I used to have.

I'd love to get a Defender's shorter barrel and then some accessories for it, so if I wanted to use it in bear season I could pack it easier.

.... seen here after a hunt in the fall. I got this duck doing a spot - and - stalk across a beach - move up when she dove, hide, move, hide, move hide . . . BANG! :D

It was my first gun over 20 years ago and have never failed. I've checked into some of the newer offerings but they just don't appear to be as robust as old one-two. She ain't purdy or light but it's solid as the day is long... in summer (lol)

. . . got it south of Saint John in the Chance Harbour area. There are a lot of ducks around here. I saw a flock of 40 or so oldsqaws just offshore while I was driving today.

I was wondering if I could get a Defender with a folder and still get ducks, despite the much shorter barrel. It'd be a lot easier to stow in the car.

I guess I'd have to thread the muzzle for chokes, to start with, and then put some sort of recoil pad on for those heavy loads. Money, Money, Money . . .
