Winchester 1300 vs SXP.

Old ones are American made nuff said.

Same gun just different external design cues.

Oh and the butt stocks might fit differently.

I've had a 1200 great built. A 1300 upland deluxe 20g. Built on a 12gauge frame... Still have a 1300 deer model with extra turkey barrel that is great.

Brother runs an as SXP and it shoots nice too. Had to be fully disassembled and cleaned throughly before being shot.

I have a Ranger 120-budget 1200 and the SXP.
The SXP is a nice gun, but seems cheap when compared to the older model.
The slide arm bridge on the old was a separate piece and the arms off the pump fit into it. On the SXP it is all one stamped piece.
Not sure what's better, I've had problems with my 120 that i think is caused by the slide arm bridge. Time will tell I guess.

1300 was probably the worst shotgun ever made by Winchester. Nice outside, cheap, cheap on the inside. SXP is simpler design and of better quality, even if it doesn't look as nice on the outside.

When I was a new hunter in the mid 1970's in my part of Ontario there were a lot of Winchester models 2200. (Canadian variant of the 1200) I don't remember any of the folks who owned them having any issues. These were farm guns that were worked hard with very little cleaning and maintenance. Internet complaints of the 1300 were broken slide arms (solder would undo). I read a lot about the plastic feed throats failing but in real life I think a lot of people are repeating things they have read on the internet. The 1200, 1300, 120, 2200 were built to be sold at competitive pricing levels. They will not last as long as others if subjected to thousands of rounds fired in the clay games. For your average hunter who looks after his shotgun they most likely will last a lifetime.
