Can someone tell me how many 44-40 bullets can fit in a full length tube magazine for a 24 inch barrel? Thanks.....Dave

Original rifle or a modern copy? The Cimarron copy holds 12 depending on the chambering.

My 26" barreled original holds 14 if I remember correctly. It's .38/40 but they are the same length as .44/40s.
The 73 is the rifle originally known to;
"Load on Sunday and shoot all week"

"Load on Sunday, shoot all week" came from the civil war. It was the Henry rifle that was referred to as "That damn Yankee rifle you can load on Sunday and shoot all week!"

Thanks for the history. That's why we play with these old things.
The 73 action is basically a Henry also, inside the receiver is the same with the exception of the loading gate and mag mechanism. There is an evolution from Henry to 1866 Win, to 1873 Win and then the 1876 Win, that is where the similarities end I think, when John Browning brough in his amazing 1886 Win action.
