Winchester 1890 .22 Short ---> .22LR?

Anyone know what the internal differences are with the Winchester 1890 when it comes to the various calibers? If I bought a .22 Short and simply reamed the chamber to LR would a LR round feed?

IIRC the carrier needs drilled to LR depth also.

Try gun parts Inc you should be able to buy a carrier for it in 22lr.

Keep in mind that most of these old Winchester .22 Short usually came with a 1:20 twist barrel. That's a VERY slow twist for a .22LR....

Well I'll let you know how it shoots. I bought one in the EE and got the parts from Numrich to convert it.
