Hey all,

I am one happy guy! Woke up at 6:00am to see that my uncle pulled into the driveway. Popped his trunk and gave me his 1894 32 Special, and an M1 to my brother. It's like Christmas.

Anyway, I'm looking for some info that you folks may have on this rifle. The serial number is 584617. From my research, it was manufactured in 1911. Any confirmation on this?

Also, what would a ball park value be on this? It even has a saddle ring on it. Talk about taking a trip back in time.

If it has a saddle ring it's probably a carbine, not a rifle... 20" barrel, barrel band around fore-end etc. The serial number sounds about right,.... could even be part of the batch that the "City of Toronto" had purchased...... check the butt-stock for stamp.
As for value, a good solid, 50% + condition carbine should be in the 400 to 600 ballpark... the prices seem to be going down these days.

"CoT"s are in .30WCF not .32WS
 
Thanks for the info guys! I really dont care about the value - to me it's priceless, and I'll never sell it. But curious anyway.

From what I was told, an RCMP officer used this firearm (work, personal - I dont know), then gave it to someone else who intern gave it to my Uncle.

It feels unique to hold such a firearm with this history. Too bad it couldn't talk.
 
Wow our rifles were probably on the line at the same time! 584540, in .32 WS :D I too came up with 1911 as the year of manufacture.

I love my 1894! Mine is also a saddle ring carbine.
 
"Lee Enfield"... I have one in 32 spl...... someone else on this forum once said that T.O had 32's so that the ammo supply wouldn't 'disappear' around hunting season.

I guess they had both.
