I recently bought a Winchester 1901 10 gauge shotgun, and have now realized that getting shells might be a little on the tricky side. From what I read, it likes 2-7/8" shells, but it seems that all that's available on shelves is 3-1/2".

I'm wondering if maybe anyone else here has dealt with the same situation and could possible recommend a place to get shells? I don't reload anything, so making my own might be out of the question for a while.

I appreciate any help or direction!

Might as well share some pics I guess

I removed what appears to be a piece of cedar wood that was acting as a plug in the tube mag. I also made a new plunger (I guess that's what I would call it) for the tube mag so that it has a flat face. The original has a rounded face that seemed to pop the paper cover out of the first shell that was put in the tube......seeing as how I'm using my modified shells for now.

I can't help on the 10 ga source, but that's a fine looking boom stick. I have the 12ga Chiappa and I like the quirky design. Good spinnin' job as well.
