Winchester 1912 16 Gauge Value?

Hey guys (and girls), just wondering if you can help me figure out a value on my shotgun! I have a Winchester Model 1912 “Winchester Repeating Arms Co.” on the barrel, it is a Single shot 16 Gauge that takes 2 ¾” Shells
Pump Action – 5 chamber, 28 ½” Barrel, with Serial Number 96### made in 1915. It retains about 80-90% of the bluing and has the original butt plate as well. Excellent stock! Any help you can give would be appreciated! Thanks in advance!

First of all it is not a 2 3/4'' if your date is correct then it would be a 2 5/8'' as far as 80% -90% bluing ? unless it was in a closet for 90 yrs unlikely it would have that much bluing on it to measure the bbl length close the bolt and insert a cleaning rod from the muzzle end and measure to the end of the muzzle and mark the cleaning rod that will be the correct bbl length as far as value $200- $300.
 
Thanks for your input Struff. Most of the bluing is still on the barrel, so maybe it was in a closet for 90 years :D I bought it from a co-worker whose father was selling his gun collection. I bought a couple of really nice rifles, including a 22 Vickers and a Model 12 Remington pump, both in mint shape at the same sale. Anyway, the 2 3/4" was what the RCMP said it was shooting, but the 2 5/8" would make more sense with the difficult spent catridge ejection. Still a nice collector's gun with the original pieces on it! I've seen comparable shotguns going for $700 and up at gun shows, which was for ones made in the 1940s. I just didn't know whether the earlier models were of the same value.

What the tag price and what they sell for is a world of difference there is no standard 16ga model 12 that is worth $700 you can buy them anywhere for $250 -$400 the condition of your is 60-65 % There is one on Ellwood epps site for 4 $ 279 I can sell you one the same condition as yours 4 $300. When Value guns you take average of what guns have sold for not what listed or buy it now prices are . Go to Gun broker . Com or Guns America and go to the COMPETED SALES. and what they have sold for and the 100/s of ones that did not even get a bid
 
I have one in about 85% condition. I paid $350 for it at the Calgary Gun Show last spring. If I were to do it over again the Max I would spend would be $300 as I found a couple later on at the show in better condition for $300.00
 
There should be a condition chart that is used to compare your gun against before it is listed 90% and then has the nerve to call me on it YIKES!! It is a $150.00 Gun
 
It's not very often that I agree with Struff55 esp. about Mdl.12s but I do here, they need to be exc. and usually have some special features before price goes up. There is a condition chart out there, kinda, it is the NRA chart for grading guns and on their chart this 16ga. may rate a "Fair"
 
Looking at the radius on the bottom front of the ejection port I would say that this is/was a 2 9/16 inch chamber. Likely it has been factory lengthened as most were. Get it checked out before capping a round off. Nickel steel gun as well, lots of miles on it. You will see guns like the one in question with hefty price tags on them, hoping some sucker comes along. In reality I would price this shotgun in the 150- 200 dollar range max.
 
Thanks Ben how are things out east I have to tell you I just boought a 1955 Model 12 Origianal trap gun and you may have trouble believing this but I paid even more for it than you did for yours. Yes there are model 12's out there that are worth more than $400.Bucks.
