Winchester 1982, reloads

I've inherited this win92 from a family member. Not knowing too much about guns myself, I'm curious to know how much it would be worth. It is apparently pre-1898 and is in fair to good condition. Does anyone have any ideas? Also, does the octagon barrel have any significance??
Thanks to those who responded to my previous question. The rifle bore seems to be in pretty good shape. I'm sure that I'll enjoy doing a little deer hunting with this rifle from time to time. It's a sleek lookin' rifle. No wonder so many people like them!

Jered, you would need to put up some detailed photos of the rifle. Price can vary a great deal depending upon the condition and whether it is refinished or not. A refinished, reblued gun is not worth much except as a shooter. On the other hand, one that is in original condition can be worth a lot more. Just going on your 'fair to good' condition, I'd say it is worth at least $400 and maybe more, depending upon the things I mentioned above. It could be worth less if it has extra holes drilled in it, or a buttpad installed on it, etc.
