Winchester 270 Accubond CT on Moose?

Well,
I have two .270s and love them for deer. If I had only a .270 for moose I would personally use heavier bullets but something similar to the Accubond you suggest. Check the ballistics pages all over the 'net and I think you might prefer nothing less than 150 gr and more likely 165, 170 grain.
Well placed tough bullet from .270 will kill a moose very dead.

What the hell is an Accubond CT?
I love the Accubond bullet, but I don't know what a CT is... is it new!?
Not new. Its a Combined Technology bullet, between Winchester and Nosler. Basically a regular Accubond, but coated in Winchester's Lubalox coating, with a red tip.

Zackley as Blargon sez. The tip is plastic. I don't think there's any heavier AccuBond .270 than the 140 gr from the original question. If you're hunting moose where your shots are reasonably close and you can be sure of good shot placement those 140s would work. If you can look a little further you should be able to find 150s intended also for deep penetration.

There is no bullet heavier than 150gr commercially available, and you would have to handload the 160 semi-spitzer if you can find some.
The 140gr Accubond is an excellent bullet, the equivalent of the Partition, and I would use it without hesitation out to 400yds on a broadside shot. My experience with the bullet would give me the utmost confidence in that bullet when well placed.
I would feel confident the 140 AB out of a 270 @ 2950 fps would be bad news for any moose inside 300-400 yards, given good shot placement. I probably wouldnt try to break shoulders with it, but a broadside lung shot should yield great results

My wife uses them in her Tikka T3 270WSM and I reload in mine, 140gr Accubonds performed flawlessly on elk and moose. My wifle took her first bull 3 years ago with 2 shots @ 325m. The first shot was a double lung complete pass-thru and was a kil, shot, I just had her shoot the bull again as I did not want it to make it into the timber. If I could get the CT's to reload with I sure would. Just my preference but you cant so I reload the available Accubonds.
I am so impressed with the Tikka T3 LS 270WSM with 140gr Accubonds that I placed my Sako m75SS 300WM on the shelf last hunting season.
Winchester Supreme 140gr Accubonds in your 270 will be great. You can even try the XP3's in 150gr would be another.
