My Winchester 290 tube fed 22 slamfires sometimes when I release the bolt to chamber a round. I have given it a good cleaning. The firing pin is not stuck and moves freely. While I was cleaning it I tapped the trigger group on my hand and the hammer let go. Could it be a worn sear or sear spring?

It IS a worn sear/disconnector.....i went through the exact issue with my 190. ordered the new disconnector and no more slamfire.....cleaning it didn't do squat....it needs that part!!!!!
Thank you very much. That's what I figured it was, but I new there had to be others out there that have experienced the same problem and I needed to hear confirmation be ordering parts.
