Looking for info on my winchester 30-30 model 1894 26 inch octagon barrel ... searched serial number and the date was made in 1898, there is a small "R" engraved in typewriter font infront of the trigger, and a small "W" on the lever. im looking for value and any other information you could give me... i cant figure out how to upload pictures as i am new to the forum, but i can give my email to someone who could help me further! thank you in advance :)

It is antique mfg. before serial # 148,000........10% -$750........50%- $1650...........98%-$6400 Add 25% for 30-30 Many deductions for any alterations ,damage............ etc 5 million made total 1894's

$500-$1.500 . Last red deer gun auction many nice 94's sold for 400$-900 one example a nice take down sold for $675 and that model usally sell for more $'s soft market

As well The Blue Book of Gun values markets vary as to where the type of firearm in question was more popular sort of an East /West thing.Recessions don't help either.

Seems here of late ,the price for the Model 94 carbines has been on the rise ,while the price of the Model 94 rifles has fallen.
