Winchester 333

I love them. They shoot great in 4 of my rifles. The only 22 ammo I use for hunting. But I have seen a friends semiautomatic Cooey that didn't like them.

I have only one gun that doesnt like them. And its absolute #### in it. Besides that one rifle it runs great in my other rifles. The weird thing is its a ruger 10/22 and my other ruger 10/22's cycle it fine.

Runs pretty well for me. Accuracy is pretty good, but other stuff is better.
It has excellent expansion on gophers, as opposed to federal blue box hollow points, which behave like solids. Also the federal blue boxes do not feed in my 10/22.
OTOH, some guys love federal blue box stuff.

They aren't great, fine in bolts or singles usually. I never use them because there are many other readily available options for same price that my Rimfires like more.
I find the biggest issue with them is how loose the bullet is seated into the case. 90% of them you can shake and feel the bullet wiggling around (understanding that you can't always expect A1 from any bulk ammo), and that is why my Semis don't like them, rear feed semis toss them in on an angle pretty fast and most of my failures to feed are because the bullet dislodged from the case causing a jam.

Bought a few bulk packs on sale, only ever shoot them in my Cooey 60. Seem to feed fine in that.

I like em. I bought a few cases I like them so much. They shoot great in both my cz's. The price on them is a little crazy these days though.

Ps- that hollow point is deadly for gophers.

Pretty accurate in my savage mkii with a few flyers but the damn things keep getting stuck in the chamber. Fine right after the chamber is cleaned with a copper brush but once it gets a bit dirty, FTE every time >.<

Shame because it actually shoots half decent

My go to ammo for gophers. Does quite well off the bench inside during the winter, only 20 yrds there though. Have also had a few fte from my CZ 452's.

For bulk I go with CCI Blazers... but the Win bulk is at least decent in most of my rifles... prefer CCI SV's 80% of the time. CCI Mini-Mag HP's for hunting.

these feed like shyte on my Beretta Model 75.

didn't try any other ammo in the 75 to see if it was just an ammo issue or a bigger problem with the mags.

cheap though so it has it's place. ;)

For a few years 22LRs were scarce in my area. Stores were limiting quantities sold and yeah the price was pretty damn high too, so that getting anything was good. I normally would buy my 22 ammo in bricks of 500 rounds, 10 50 round boxes. But these reached a price of more that 12 cents a round, for "plinking ammo", and my "Scotch/Welsh" blood wouldn't stand that amount.

Come a year or so latter and the bulk packs started showing up, first in low number but increasing as the time went by. I had survived on shooting the cache of ammo I'd gathered over the preceding years but now have been adding new bought bulk packs to the larder, Winchester 333 being one of the brands and them running me less than $20 a box, pre-tax.. So far they've fed and functioned in every 22 I've fed them to and that number includes bolt, lever, single shot, semi-auto, both rifle and pistol.

Will never buy them again. I have had fail to feeds and FTE from all my semis. Even in bolt guns you can hear 1 round in 10-20 is notably quieter than the others and a guaranteed low hit/miss. First 30 rounds ever fired had 3 dud rounds. And that was from an sr22 that feeds EVERYTHING else put through it. Those low powered rounds will sometimes eject but not blow the slide/bolt back quite far enough to strip the next round.

Thunderbolts
Fed Bulk
Dynapoints
CCI MM
Stingers
Remington Subsonics

Have all been fired from all three of my semi 22LRs and feed/fired fine with only the ODD fail to fire, which is normal for rimfire.

As a side note I had the EXACT same experience with Walmart bought Winchester 17HMR ammo. Bought 500 rounds because they were $2 a box cheaper than every other 17 ammo I could find at the time. 1 in 10 fail to fire rate. Would USUALLY go off after removing/turning the round and having a second strike, but not all the time. Also had MULTIPLE failure to extracts in my BOLT ACTION Savage. Had to use a cleaning rod to push the case out, and my knife in the field several times. Rifle was clean, and has ZERO problems with CCI and Federal ammo. I hunt/trap with that gun and lost more than one animal as a result. Unacceptable and I will not buy Winchester ammo for rimfire again, Although I have had very good results with Dynapoints.

Winchester hmr ammo and savage guns are a well known bad combo. After having the same savage/win combo you did I sold the salvage and bought a cz452 it will shoot and eject everything.
