Does anyone have any feed back on the Winchester 333 .22 ammo. My local gun shop has a box on sale for 9.99. I shoot a 10/22 and Sig pistol, my other guns will shoot just about anything but my Ruger and Sig seem to only like certain ammo.

I only use the Winchester 333/555 ammo. It evidently will not cycle thru some semis but each gun is different and will choose the ammo it likes the best. Try a few different manufacturers and see which type it likes. Many say that 10-22s do not like 333s, but my Mossberg and Marlin semis as well as my Winny 490 semi cycle them just fine. It could be the rough lead that causes the problem or the casing shape. From the gist of the threads, I think the stock extractor seems to cause many problems with many different ammo types.

Don't be so cheap, get the good stuff!

My 10/22, Marlin 81DL and S&W 17 like it.

Strangely though, my Beretta 71 which is famous for reliably feeding and extracting almost anything chokes on 333s. They stick on the feed ramp coming out of the magazine on the first round when I drop the slide.

You could easily spend more without getting something better. I find that the Winchester 333/555 is no different in accuracy from Winchester Super X, or most other HV hollow point ammunition and it works just fine in my .22s.

What I consider "good" .22 ammo is standard velocity target ammo that sells for upwards of $40.00/brick. For most uses, the additional expense over promotional bulk ammo is unnecessary.
