Winchester 571 powder in hanguns

Anyone know about loading 571 in .45acp or .44 mag. I was given 7 pounds of it for free and I don't load for shotgun. Anyone have an old reloading manual with that powder listed? How about a min/max loads for my hand-howitzers? Thanks.

Winchester 571 is a magnum powder for the heaviest 12 and 20 gauge loads. Recommended for 3" cases.

I'm not near my loading manuals right now, but I have used WW571 in 9mm and liked it. Perfect for use in carbines, the slower burn gives increased velocity in longer barrels.
If you see any loads for HS7, it is the same.*

I have a pound I am trying to use up. There is not a lot of use but I did find some magnum loads in my old manuals for .357 and .44.

I'm glad you caught that right away! You are correct, I was thinking of WW500HS, that is the same as HS5.

Ok. So, did anyone find a load for .45ACP or .44 mag. I also heard that it was the same as HS-7. Does anyone have some 231 they want to trade for some 571 then......?

Thanks, Joe-NWT. The link was very helpful. I will try some loads and post the results. Just for info. My XD-45 shoots sub 2.5" groups @ 20m,offhand, with 225 gr RNFP and 4.3 gr of W-231.

Let us know how the 571 works. I have a couple cans of it also, got it in a trade last year and have'nt got around to trying it yet.
