Winchester 630 Ball Powder

Has anybody used this stuff?
Apparently it has been off the market for many years.
It is a handgun powder.
Based on a quick Google search, reviews were really mixed.
Does anyone have any first-hand experience?

I'll have to check my load notes....maybe it was my go-to powder for my 22 K- Hornet..

I recall the same thing, I may have a can left in the basement. Was used in shotguns too, as I recollect. - dan

Used to use it all the time in my heavy .44 mag loads, since been replaced with 296.

My Speer #10 from 1979 is the last to mention it so any left on the shelf is 30+ years old now.

Looking through it, its amazing on how many powders are no longer with us, 230, TopMark, HS5 and the Alcan's just to name a few.

I've got a few old manuals around - are you looking for any particular application?

And yes, I agree - it's amazing how many of the 'standby' powders from the 70's just aren't made anymore. Probably *most* of the powders listed in Hornady #1 don't exist today
