Hi

When it comes to .22 's im a single shot guy. Do everything with my model 68. Was wondering something for when i gain access to the EE. If i put out a wtb for another 68, or i may prefer a 67, will the bolts interchange between them so i'll have parts if needed? Curious for when the time comes, hopefully soon.

Yes, they do interchange BUT headspace may be loose if the rear of the bolt handle is worn too much! Be sure to wear your eye protection when test firing ( or tape a piece of 8 1/2 X 11 paper around the breech and fire remotely to check for blowout/by. If it is loose the quick fix is some stippling on the face of the receiver slot that the bolt locks against. The trigger wobble from side to side can be improved with some very small metal or teflon washers to centre the trigger. The trigger pivot pin MAY be worn out of round and require replacement with a section of an appropriatly sized small drill bit. Polishing both trigger and sear/extractor mating surfaces followed by some light grease also helps marginally. Many gophers fell to the family '67 and '68 back in the '50's and '60's.

I own a very pristine M68 Winchester. Quite accurate, I may add.
I have willed it to my oldest son, who covets it.
Many a grouse has ended up in the pan due to that 68. Dave.
