Any experts out there that know anything about these repeating
rim fires?
Pre and post war, different models in between and what
sights, options etc were used.
I have a couple here and there seem to be slight variations to them.
Not interested in selling them, just to have some history of these
good shooting 22's.

Thanks one and all for any info. :D

Lots of good info at rimfire central. FS

Thanks for the great site Fassteel.
Saved that one under favorites.
Only problem now is my wish list just took a hit.
Need to determine what the proper peep sight is as my
one 69A has the two holes for the rear receiver peep and
the stock has the notch for it as well.
Cheers.

Those 69/69As are very accurate rifles deserving of a good peepsight.

My 69A wears a Mossberg S550. Lyman makes good ones as well.

Hope I'm not asking to much, how about a photo??:p
I just bought another 69A and all original, no extra holes, nadda.
Going to have to get used to the original sites.
My other one I can play with.
The receiver was drilled for a side mount and I had one on there at
one time. Scope sat off parallel to the barrel, but it did shoot well like that.
It's back to plain sights.
Thanks.

I have an original 69A peep around here some place that mounts in the notch in your stock. My 50 plus year old eyes will NOT be ever using a peep sight any longer.
I'll find out from my pals at Rimfire Central how much is it worth and you can buy it if you like.

I spent a fair amount of time on that site you recommended and learned some interesting things on these jewels. Seems there were a variation of peep sites used. One really caught my interest in that it uses three screws to mount the peep. Two to hold the peep site and one smaller further back to hold the elevation plate or marker so to speak. It used up the notch cut in the stock. Someone on the site made comment about the stock being over cut or notched in one particular case. Reading further, the plan all came together. If one uses the two screw mounting peep, the notch seems cut too big or long.
Mine has two threaded holes only. I emailded myself a bunch of photos of some of these fine pieces but my lack of FRED savy won't let me get them here. PM sent to you Fassteel.
Thanks, muchly appreciated.
