winchester 69a gun and bolt disassembly

Looks not to bad, just surface rust, mainly crud ? springs look good.
I was thinking they where roll pins in this, but it has been 20 yrs since I had one.
It has the peep sight on it?

Nope has the standard iron sights like elevator style

Little late...but is this the same?

Steel wool works, but an "ultra sound cleaner" is better...:p

Yep looks exactly the same lol, who would have thought they used the same bolt system between a few rifles ? Lol. Now that I watched that video now I’m curious how to fix a loose charging handle on the bolt

Check the safety end.
They tend to wear if yewsed freekwently.

Best way I found is to #### the action, put the safety awn, then pull the trigger.
Move safety to the fire position and the sear should hold.

This is of course dun with an empty chamber.

Hmm how will this fix a loose charge handle on my bolt assembly ? Lol

Well got it all back together, all cleaned up no more grim or junk in the rifle now :) using the bolt would feel like gritty/sandpaper like and now it’s feels like glass. Almost as nice as my next to new savage bolt action. Only thing the rifle could use would be a new stock as it has a crack just behind the safety and maybe some new blueing as previous own used heavy steel wool or fine sandpaper on outside of barrel and metal places as you can see the light scratches all over unfortunately :(

I’m not even sure where I could find a new stock for it whether they’re even made still or if there is a alternative for a replacement. I checked full operation for it and everything works flawlessly even the safety is good and tight as well.

Couldn’t find a serial number or stamp for when the rifle was made though, I was really hoping to know what year this rifle is as I know it has been around since the 40s maybe even earlier, as that is when the gentleman had the house where it was found….

Well here is some pics of such, hopefully it’ll help. Everything is factory with this rifle never been modified allll factory done

That crack in the stock can be easily repaired, and will be just about invisible when done properly.

I'd be hard pressed to taws up $350 giften the cracked stawk.

Then agin, take a look in the ee and see the one listed there.

Listing for sale is one thing, selling it is another ..

I sold a 69a last month on GP, it was a really nice one with strong bluing and lyman peep sight. Was listed for a few weeks and got $565 for it.
So with the condition of your rifle is in I would be happy getting 350 bucks but I'm not a Winchester expert : )

FIX IT !
