Winchester 70 question

I took a winchester model 70 coyote outback on a trade for my muzzelloader .
all I can seem to find out about these rifles is that the last catauloge year was 2006.it is a 22-250 stainless fluted barrel on a blued reciever 24"bbl that measures .74" at the muzzel.with a fairly beefy pepper laminate stock with cut outs in the fore stock and the center of the rear stock.the rifle is minty with 20 or fewer rounds through it.i am guessing it will be a 1-14 twist being a 22-250.it seems to have a reasonably light crisp trigger.with the barrel free floated all the way to the receiver.would this be a controled round feed I am not familier with winchester rifle that well.

I believe the older coyote models were a push feed design. Does it have a full length claw extractor or a small extractor mounted on the bolt head? Does it have a spring loaded plunger style ejector mounted on the bolt face or a standing ejector mounted on the rear of the reciever with a slot cut in the bolt face for it to pass through?

Hi the extractor is a long piece of metal on the out side of the bolt that rotates on the bolt when its removed from the action.and a standing ejector at the rear of the receiver with a slot cut in the bolt.thanks

A simple search on Google of controlled round feed and push feed actions would tell you your answer

But yes, what you explain above would be a CRF action.

Thanks yes I found it after I asked and I also ran a tight patch down the bore and it is indeed a 1-14 twist.

You have what they call a CRPF (control round push feed), this action will work reliably feeding from the mag or dropping a round onto the ramp, it is an excellent design and is what McMillan is now supplying on their sniper rifles as a CRF action, it has merit as an improved action over the Rem type of push feed by supplying both a larger extractor and a manual ejector, both improvements over stricly push feed actions, in my an many others opinions.

No it's not. The CRPF used the short post-64 extractor with pre-64 bolt face not the long Mauser-style extractor.
