winchester 748 question

I got a can of 748 from a friend and started loading some 223. I noted that the powder is a blend of ball and extruded. It seems to be a very uniform blend. I always thought powder was either ball or extruded , never a blend. Anyone use 748 and know if maybe this is a can mixed powder or is that normal ?

Ask the guy you got the powder from. maybe he just threw a few bits of any left over powder into a batch. Better to be careful than sorry...I would not load it until I was positive of what mix it is.

good rule of relaoding is

if the powder can was NOT sealed when you got it DO NOT use it

When I borrowed it from him , he thought I had given to him a while ago and I knew I had never used it. So it was a mystery. We do share powders from time to time but usually we know where they came from. I phoned and accused him of trying to kill me so he agreed he owes me lunch. Life is cheap.

As for the powder, its on my lawn now.
