Winchester 785 powder.

I have over 8 lbs of this powder that imp not too sure what to do with. From all my Google searches I have come to realise that it is a slow, magnum powder. Can this be used for my .270 Winchester with 130gr accubond bullets? If so does anybody have any load data for this discontinued powder?


Any help would be greatly appreciated.
 
The above load is what I shot in my .270 in the early 1970s and I hated to see it discontinued. It was just a little slower burning than IMR-4831 BUT it had warnings to NOT use below listed start loads. If too little powder was put in the case it could possibly detonate, I loved 785 powder and never had a problem.
 
60.5 grains over a 130 grain bullet is that the max load? which brings me to my next question of compression loading the powder. IMR 7828(another powder i have) gives me a max load of 59.5 grains over a 130 grain bullet. 59.5 grains puts powder half way up into the neck of the casing. Thats quite a bit of powder compression, is this normal/ok?
 
Compressing IMR 7828 is not a problem.
It will tolerate a fair amount of compression without issue.
Some shericals, however, do not take kindly to compression.
The only extruded powder that I can recollect that became erratic when compressed was
the now long-obsolete Hodgdon H205.
I have used a fair amount of W785 in the past...decent slow-burner, close to H450.
