Winchester 94/22

How accurate were the old Winchesters. How do they compare to the Rugers, Marlins, Brownings and Henrys

Great lever .22 . I never had one but have shot a friend's in direct comparision to my Marlin 39a. Lot's more " flickable" than my Marlin . Accuracy about the same . My Marlin fit me better because I'm tall , but I certainly wouldn't pass up on the Winchester if one came my way .

I've had one for about 27yrs now and I would never sell it.Very well made.will shoot dime size target at 20 yards (Brothers tryed to out shoot me).
Mine is the XTR model with superb wood.
If you can find one grab it.

Thanks My son has a Ruger 96/22 so I wouldn't want to confuse him by getting the same gun..lol. I always liked the feel of a Win 94/22

Very nice rifle. If they pop up on EE, they are gone in minutes. Grab one if you can.

If they are priced reasonably, that is very true.I missed two 9422s in the same day, and I responded to the adds as soon as I saw them, which was around 1/2 hour after they were posted.The prices have really gone crazy in the USA, with used 9422s selling for more than they cost new only five years ago.
I finally found a like new in box 9422 Tribute yesterday, after searching all over Canada.I know where there are several more, in almost new condition,but most are priced even higher than I paid for my Tribute model, in the original box.If you find one in very good condition for under $500, you are doing well, like new 9422s are running from $600 to $750 for the standard models.The only positive,is that if you keep them in top condition, the prices will likely continue to climb.

I own two Classics, one in .22LR and the other in .22Mag. Both quite accurate, and wish I had a few more.

I use a 94/22mag to shoot Beaver with and love it.

Yup - especially since no more are being made! I have the 9422, 9422XTR (22 mag version) and my 9410 is my all time fave!

I think there aren't really 2 camps on the 94. Those that appreciate them and, those who haven't had their hands on one. My Father used to own a 39 but, it was lost in a fire as a kid...'78.

I have one in a 22 mag and was thinking of mounting a scope on it. What are you guys using for mounts/rings? I have a Elite 3200 3-9x40 I was going to use.
