Winchester 94 30-30 serial number oddity?

Hey everyone, i purchased a winchester 94 30-30. i have been trying like hell to look up the serial number to reference a manufacturing date. the serial number appears to be 9976041 which is waaaaay higher than anything out there. Im thinking maybe the 1 isnt actually a #1 , i dont know. i would post a picture but i cant figure out how. any help would be appreciated

First take a good picture and store it on your computer... use a photo program that allows you to edit it... then edit it as you want... then upload that picture to a free picture hosting site as:

https://postimages.org/ ... I highly recommend this site...

Once the picture is stored on that website and you are looking at the picture copy the direct link and post that direct link on CGN using the "insert image" tool in the tool bar.

Once you have done it a few times you realize how easy it is...

I advised the OP that that slotted screw head was a sure sign that his rifle was pre-64. I do not remember all the screw and pin differences between pre- and post 64, but quite certain this is one of the "tell tale" ones?
