Winchester 94/32, who uses one for hunting. where can I get a leather butt cover

In the hunting field, neither you nor the deer, will be able to distinguish the 32 Special from the 30-30. So, just think of it as a 30-30, and away you go hunting.

My dad has one and it is one fine deer cartridge and rifle. Ballistics are near identical to the 30-30 with a slightly larger in diameter bullet. Know your range and you will have meat in the freezer.
Good luck

As above. I have used one for about ten years. Deer fall over, just as dead as with lots of other calibers. This year, I hope to get a few rounds loaded for a 1913 Savage Model 1899 in .303 Savage. If it happens, I'll use it for a year or two, then pull out another old classic. I have my Dad's BSA/M1917 in 30-06 that I plan to take out before too long as well.

A Model 94 in .32 Winchester Special is at the top of classic "deer guns". Don't be taken in by all the hype of the gun writers and the gun shop hanger outers.

I love mine and out to as far as I can hit with the sights on it about 170-180 yards bambi or if I had to MR. bullwinkle should be very afraid. I may switch to a lyman or williams peep and see how the old girls shoots the new leverevolution and they may need to be afraid out to 200 yards or further.

I'm excited to get out, here some pics of the rifle. I got it as a trade for my norinco 14" 12 guage shotty.

I'd go to some one local who works with leather, they should be able to whip one up for you, maybe not as quick as something orderred from the interweb, but it would be a lot more personal and you'd be keeping your money in your local economy which to me is a big plus.

My uncle had a very old 32 special with an octagon barrel, short magazine, and pistol grip. It had most of the bluing worn off, but was in very nice condition. When I was a kid, I'd look at that rifle on the wall, and wish I could own one some day. I don't know where it went, but I'm pretty sure the new owner doesn't appreciate the true value of it.

I shot my first deer with a 32 special. I've used many calibers since, but I always like to come back to the 32. It has no problems knocking them down stone dead out to 150 yards. I've never shot one out farther, but I'm sure you could squeeze 200 out of the old girl no problem if you did your part. Great deer caliber, and rifle. You won't be let down by it. Just don't expect it to be a 400 yard sniper rifle. Practice with it, and you will love it.

The 32 Special is a great lever-gun cartridge. I personly like its twin sister the 32-40. Along with the timeless 30-30 there are no better cartridge-gun combo's for medium range thin skinned critters. I like the fact that you can eat right up to the bullet hole and you don't have a lot of wasted meat like you do with the Super-mags.
