Hello fellow gunutz, I have a major problem on my hands with my Winchester 94 30-30 assembly. I have purchased this rifle recently for a small price since the rifle had rust in many places. I thought I should make this my project gun and reblue the steel and refinish the stock. I looked inside the action and rust was showing quite everywhere, but the bore is mirror. I decided to take the rifle apart including the action. I did not expect the action to be so complicated. I cannot figure out how to reassemble the rifle together. Please help me out! I am really dissapointed. Also how much would a gunsmith charge for an assembly like this?

Thank you!

Just to let you know it looks like this right now.

Hi, have you Googled for re-assembly instructions? I have gotten in a bind once in a while and have always found a good set of instuctions that helped out. Oh, and find one with step by step pics!

Yes I have looked through over 15 pages on google trying to find some instructions but nothing specific. I even went on youtube and spent an hour but all I found is an armourer that briefly sticks in a cuple parts, did not help at all since his action was already half assembled.

what are you having problems with. I've taken apart and reassembled a few 94's. One thing I've learned is..make sure they are spotless and put a light coat of oil on the internal parts before assembly helps.

Mostly having problems with reassembaling the receiver but i will try assembaling it by following Wally's video and the instructions above, and thank you for the heads up on oiling the internal parts before reassembly I'll keep that in mind.

The assorted Win M94 manuals are here. http://stevespages.com/page7b.htm

I have looked at a couple manuals but none are specific to assembaling the rifle back together.

And when you take it to a 'smith to get it reassembled, remember that it was your brother-in-law, cousin, whoever, who disassembled it.

they aren't difficult to put back together..you just need to figure out the sequence that the parts go back in the receiver. ;)
It took me several attempts the first time.

i had a '94 xtr quite a few years back and sold it.i had taken it apart 1 or 2 times (and back together).
guy i sold it to decided to strip it right down and then left it in a box for a couple of years.
next thing i know i have this box in front of me! yaaa:eek:

anyway, took me about 1.5 hours to get it back together,no vids needed...

I've heard of kitchen table gunsmiths, but a bedroom smith is news to me. :p

A well explained assembly video.

Wally, I didn't realize that you made the video. Great work, helped me a lot to understand how the action went together.

I always like to work where I can get comfortable too !!

andrei, I just sent several pages of pics and instructions to your father. He should be able to follow the detailed instructions for assembly as he will have the pics for reference.
