Winchester 94, newer one.

I just picked up a Winchester 94 made about 1980. The tang isn't drilled right for a tang sight. Only one bolt hole. And the receiver isn't drilled for a scope but the side of the receiver has a couple of holes that look like they were put there to mount a receiver peep sight. The holes don't appear to be tapped.

Would the two holes be for some function or are they put the, untapped, for a receiver sight?

Okay. I found on the computer that the two side holes are supposed to be tapped. Guess I better check again.

Found Lyman still makes a receiver peep sight that should work. I'll look for others too. Any suggestions?
