Hi folks,
i’ve recently bought a winny 94 and as muck as i like the gun i find its forestock a little on a skinny side, for my big hands (i’m not bragging) i just find it little discomforting as i like some flesh on things i put my hands on, is there an aftermarket option to beef up the forestock some to make it more comfortable?

There used to be neoprene peel n' stick checkered pads contoured for a fore end and pistol grip rifle stock. I don't know if they're still available, but if so, it would be a much more attractive alternative to bondo and would fill out the grip a little to make it more comfortable. I do know there is plain black neoprene of different densities available (online search) that you could cut and fit to the fore end. Advantage is that it's removable if you ever decide to sell the rifle.

Tough to keep the leather low enough to not interfere with the sights IMO. That and leather leaches tannin's onto the bbl... I'd be looking for a different method than this one personally.

i would imagine that the leather padding would only encompass the wood and only the lashing would go over the barrel
this is very interesting idea, may look really good on a rifle with a leather shell padding on the butt stock too

Put something together out of a piece of walnut, shouldn't be too hard. How big do you need? where you located?
