I have an opportunity to purchase one of these. Still in the box, wraped in the original paper, manuals, papers etc.

What is the value of one of these?

Winchester 94 MP

Unfired, like that, a lot more than a fired one.

Check the serial numbers. There were TWO issues of this rifle.

One is prefixed MP and the other RCMP. I think the MP ones were for RCMP Members who wanted one, and could order them separately.

That said, note the words "I think", as I am not positively sure on the difference. Someone else will surely reply to you on this one.

Varies have seen the commemoratives sell for as low as $450 and others are asking $1000+. I attend all the shows here in Manitoba and Saskatchewan on an average I see the RCMP ones for around $850+/- mind you I see the same ones for sale show after show sometimes. $700 would be a fair deal IMO.
Pete......

Also keep in mind there were a lot more made for the RCMP than for the commercial offering. I understood about 3000 of each were planned and the RCMP Members would be able to obtain one through a lottery. A production of 13000 comes to mind, and I heard of one member getting five. That side of the market was seriously diluted, and at the time the commercials were worth more than the RCMP.

The serial number for the members model the serial number starts with MP while the model available to the public the serial number starts with RCMP. Both have MP on the side of the butt stock. There were only 5,100 made while the number for public sales was 10,442. The MP model is worth close to double of a public model ($900/$1000 vs $600) from what I have seen sell.

to get a grand for a MP it has to be perfect & so does the box. You also need to find someone that thinks they need it. I had a com. nib sold 500 & have looked at many more. $6-8 seems going for New with exc. box etc
