I recently took off a scope on my model 94. When I went to put the screws back into the rifle, they were too long due to the fact they were that length because of the scope base.
So I need some smaller screws, so can anyone here tell me the names of these screws. I still have the pins in the action, so the action is still working, but without the bigger screw, the pin falls out. Please help anyway you can, thanks!

Try cutting the screws down to the correct length so they don’t bottom out. You can use a hacksaw if it is a lot, a grinder, or a file. If you don't plan to use the scope again there is no use in keeping the screws long. If you want to keep your screws just go to your local gunsmith and they will have some or be able to order you some in.

Your gunsmith should give them to you for nothing, with a smile, as they only cost a few cents and he will be floating in them from all the scopes he's mounted over time. I popped into Elwood Epps a couple of weeks ago for the very same thing (different rifle mind you) and the chap said, "Here, just take them. It's too much trouble charging you for these."

I see you live in Edmonton.

They will almost definitely have what you need.

Besides the two plug screws you need the finger lever pin stop screw

Wgp should have one

I had the same problem and didn't have the proper replacement screw in my parts drawers. Instead of chopping it to fit, next time I was at the gunsmith, I handed him the carbine and he was back within a minute with the right screw installed, no charge.
