Will the resale value be lowered if I install a screw in sling stud on the stock and a clamp on swivel stud on the ammo. tube ?

I thought the 16" barreled Trapper was less run of the mill than a regular carbine

Ar they rare though? Like, how much value are you going to lose? $100? To me, that much moneyis worth my enjoyment and ease of use to sling.

Next question - Do you plan on selling it? If no, why does it matter if it has the studs in it?

Alternatively, a scabbard might be an idea for carrying it around, but still allow somewhat fast access.

I have them on many of my rifles. I do not like the ones installed by Bubba, and I have several - too close or too far from the toe (should be about 3"), tilted left or right (should be in-line with vertical centre of the stock), and should be 90 degrees to the underside of the buttstock (not 90 degrees to the bore line). And no missing wood chips!! As a buyer, aftermarket installation starts to take money off the table, and each of the things above keeps taking off more. Done correctly, like on a Ruger or Winchester factory stock, they don't look too jarring. I like the recessed, or semi-recessed ones the best - like on Winchester Model 70 Supergrade.

I wouldn't put sling swivels on a pre WWII Winchester or a mint pre 64, for all others including your trapper, it is a funtional upgrade.

for a trapper that you plan to hunt with, and will inevitably pick up a few bumps and scrapes it makes no difference.

For a 100 year old 38-55 in good shape for the age I wouldn't advise it.
