I just purchased this gun for 120$ and am planning on giving it to my good friend for the same I paid.
I am curious what these model 94s are worth? I believe it to be from the early 70's. Has top ejection. It is a 30-30 and has some signs of use but is in good shape overall.
I'm just really wondering the value, I see the new model 94s go for 1200$ befor taxes.
I can always give him another rifle is this one has some value.

Thanks . Seems like I got a good deal then. I only have a need for one lever 30-30 and I'm going to keep my 51' marlin that my grandfather passed down to me in the top picture. I'm going to pass on the deal on the 94 to my buddy.

You'll see them on E.E., in simular condition for up to $350, for a post'64

Correct...they are currently selling for three to four hundred , depending on condition . You may want to keep it as a hunting rifle yourself if your marlin has sentimental value.....using a gun in the field can be rough on them sometimes....and you would not find much of a gun for 120 dollars these days...

My old marlin is not shy to being used. It's said to have shot over 100 deer and has spent many of nights in the woods. I'm sure whatever I can do to it will be nothing it hasn't been threw before.

That is steal at that price.Better turn yourself in to the police.I never see deals like that anymore and like a few others I'm a bit envious, good for you!!

They are valued at what they are worth to the purchaser... A Post '64 in excellent condition is around $400, a pre-'64 is about $100 more... But I just paid $650 for a pre-64 .32 Special, because the serial number was 5 places from my grandfather's that he handed down through my uncles and finally my father (youngest son) and then to me, and now my son... My son is shooting the original family heirloom and I am shooting the "five-off"... We generally only use them when we are walking the woods or nestled into a cedar swamp.

You did get a great bargain with that '94, and will be proving yourself to be a fine friend when you pass that good fortune on to your buddy. Good on you!
