hello fellas, I have a model 9422 that a buddy gave me to clean up and diagnose why it was misfiring. Well it was very dirty and hadn't been cleaned for some time. I gave it a very good cleaning thinking that would take care of the misfiring problem. It didn't.
I took it out to test fire after cleaning and it misfired 5 out of five rounds. Each round had a firing pin mark on it. I tried some different ammo and it fired 3 times in a row. I put 3 more rounds in it and tried again it misfired all 3 times. So I tired again, this time after a misfire I re-cocked the hammer and it fired every time I did that.
Nothing looks obviously worn out, the firing pin looks alright. I have done some research and it has been a problem for a few people but couldn't find an answer except to take it to a gunsmith. There are none around here.
Any helpful thoughts would be greatly appreciated.
