Winchester 9422

I love my 9422s. May get a third in XTR. They just feel so right in my hands. I also love the half-#### safety.

I have owned a couple Henrys, a Marlin and a browning lever .22 and would take the Winny over any of them.

ETA: A NIB 9422M just sold in the EE, asking price $1000.

Old thread, but haven't seen any WinCam 9422M's in Canada. They go for big bucks in the US. I did manage to find 9422M with a plain stock for $550 :)

Owned 5 winchester including the Cheyenne. They are smooth as silk lever actions. Nicely made but not as accurate as the Marlin 39's. The lever isn't a smooth, but the heft and weight is closer to a centerfire lever action. So I'll keep the 4 Marlins, sold all the Winchester. And the major reason was all of the Marlins were more accurate than the Winchesters. My 2cents.

Bought one recently and not terribly impressed paid top dollar for it. Have to cycle hard to the point of hurting your hand to eject and still fte frequently causing jams. This is an as new legacy with little use. For less than half the price have had a couple Henry's that are way smoother reliable and more accurate. But am a Winchester fan so will probably figure out the problem and keep it. Can see another Henry for the Grandkids though.

The win 94/22& the browning BL $ the marlin 39 are all excellent lever actions the other manufactures don't even enter onto the picture. The thing is I don't like any lever guns rimfire or center fire . Bolt actions for me .

I have a 9422M as well, my father bought it decades ago for $200 iirc.
I really dislike the irons, will install a peep sight some day. Maybe a skinner.
Hard to beat for plinking fun. With a sight I like, would be good for pests.

I just picked up a 9422M wincam in like new condition.
It was a deal I couldn't pass up. I paid $450 & the seller through in 2 boxes of ammo.
If you find one for sale, you better move fast!!

I looked at a few Henry's but couldn't commit to taking one home. The 9422 just feels right when I shoulder it & it cycles as smooth as silk.

Whats Wincam mean?

It's a green/brown/black laminate stock.

I've got a 9422 XTR in 22 mag that my father-in-law gave me. I wouldn't give up that rifle for anything. It has a beautiful piece of satin finished wood with a nice high gloss blue. I'm not sure when he acquired the rifle, so I don't know the age. I know it's 15+ years old, more likely about 20. The lever action is nice and smooth and it shoots great. It's got a cheap old bushnell 4x on it that I am thinking of replacing or taking off altogether.

The last one that I saw sell that was the same as mine (same condition also) went for about $800-850. I wouldn't think of getting rid of it though. It's too much fun.

There was also a brown laminate version. I think it was called Win Tuff.

I want the WinCam because I have a Model 70 that also has it. Thought it would be nice to have a matching set ;)
