can anyone tell me what this rifle might be worth. its brand new in 1980 and still in the box. has never been fired.

Yep, it would be worth a good $800. Actually "worth" is not a good word here. People are asking $800 or so for such a gun and are probably getting it. I remember selling one for $400 many years ago.

I sold my 9422 for $800 and got 1200 for my $9422mag. got mine in 87 for $344 each. dont devalue your gun. some guys want to pay 250 for these guns hoping some ignorant person will bite. good luck.
