A E designates it as an Angle Eject . Appears to be a replacement stock and with the finish mostly gone its not going to be a collector anytime soon, just probably a good shooter so I would say $400 should move it without much trouble but $500 might take a while.
Those who know more than I do say that stock on the 375 was only available in 1983.
Ammo for it is basically a reloading proposition right now. That makes it more fun anyways.

Those stocks were an option for a few years in the "Big Bore" lineup from my research. I've had a few, i prefer the original style to the humpbacks for open sights and muzzle lift, but for cheek weld with a scope the humpbacks give you a better cheek weld. Which front scope mount holes does it have? Radial or axial. If it is radial the mounts are hard to find, if its axial I might be able to send them with the box of ammo

I'll be a little bit general in years because there seems to be some conflicting information when researching these things on the web, and that is where I got my info. I've tried to piece it together, but may not have it correct. Initially the Big Bore was only made in 375 win and came out about 1978 -1979. The serial numbers began with BB, all were top eject, and you could not get the raised stock. In the early 1980's the 307 and 356 win were also added to the big bore options. About 1983 - 1984 they used the XTR designation, which was likely mostly marketing, but indicated supposedly a better metal finish and better wood, including the checkering yours has. The raised stock was an option. By 1985 or 1986, the XTR was dropped and the checkered wood was no longer available. Since yours has the XTR stamp, and the raised stock and is AE, that would put it about 1983 or 1984. Some say only 1983 for the ones in 375 win. Its all confusing to research since there seems to be no official records, and there is conflicting info on the web. For instance, I've read in some places that the 375 was never made in AE, and other places say it was made in AE. Yours pics clearly settle that. I've read that all big bores were dropped from production about 1988. You can also read that about 19,000 were made in 375 in AE. If that is correct, your serial number would seem to put it later than 1983. But then the info concerning stock availability and XTR designation becomes contradictory. Confused yet?

They won't be a purchase thing as 38-55 factory loads are pretty 'Milque toast' these days.
The 38-55 brass seems a tad longer & will likely be lighter, but in a capable reloader hands it would get you shooting.
Waters got an easy 1700 fps out of a 38-55, that is a round with some authority

It's not that hard. A Lee Anniversary kit should have everything you need minus dies.
The shell trimmer is a bit cheesy, like a pull start pencil sharpener. But it'll shorten the case a tad. Take the expander die out, mic it and turn it down a couple thou...hmmm.
Might not even need to. IIRC the dies are for a 375 - 38-55.
Me; I like Pet Loads, by Ken Waters. Dated, as in no RUM or short mag loads. But each round...he writes anecdotes and stories of as well as data provided. Makes it a lot less painful than pure data.
Mine was an early BB model top eject. 38g Reloader 7 and a hornady 220fp.

hey mate I got one downunder but its top eject.
I use AR2207 and 250 ish grain Hard Cast projies with coating for around 1800fps. I claim its a hot 3855..... of course the factory stuff is comin out at said 2100 fps give or take.
hornady made 220gr FN
I use hawksbury river bullet company cast.
30-30 brass can be used but mild loads, aka 1700-1800 stuff
