- Was in a local gun store last weekend when a guy came in with a sob story. He'd been out in the woods, and spotted his deer, and drew-down on it, and pulled the trigger and the gun went 'click' and the deer went "bye-byes, y'all" and was long gone before he could work the bolt and chamber another round.
He'd been using Winchester ammo; we convinced him it likely wasn't a problem with his gun then, and he left with a couple'a boxes of Federal and Hornady Superformance.
Don't know what's up with Winchester. Their rimfire ammo is GARBAGE - the Club has a bunch that they put on the tables at Open House for the members and guests to use, but most of us bring our own .22 now - and refuse to even use Winchester for free, much less buy any. Better than standing there counting slowly to sixty - a couple'a times a magazine-full - while everybody else on the line is waiting for us to safe-up and put the gun down. And I'd feel so embarrassed, if they weren't spending half their range day doing the same thing.
Sad to hear their premium centrefire ammo has the same sorta' problems...
