I recently purchased a bag of winchester brass in 300 win mag and we found a primed 7 mm brass in the bag ,the count was 50 including the 7mm, has anybody ever expreinced this

winchester is always a couple over, no matter what caliber- it's what endears them to me- there's always 1 or 2 cases that get mangled somewhere along the way- or you need to make a dummy round- either way having that "cushion" is nice
the stuff i get is factory bulk, in winchester bags, not repackaged- it comes in a sealed ziplock marked winchester- no retailer is going to take the time to re-package using WINCHESTER bags and factory seal the tops-

In a bag of Winchester 264 Win Mag brass (factory sealed bag) I found two
(unprimed) 300 Win Mag ... not terribly hard to mix them up.

Only noticed when I went to FL size them before use ...
and yes, I FL size, trim, debur the case mouth and primer flash hole, uniform the primer pockets, tumble & weigh/segregate all new brass cases before use. Removes a lot of variables !

I can't recall ever having more than 50 in a bag of Winchester brass, Remington yes, Winchester no. The odd thing about Bronkobill's find was that it was a primed piece of Frontier( Hornady ) 7mm rem. I guess the same manufacturer makes brass for Winchester and Hornady. The bag was a sealed Winchester (Olin) bag.
